Thomas Cranmer designed the movement of the BCP Liturgy (1552>1662) to follow the outline of the Gospel.   It is preserved best today in the Reformed Episcopal Prayer Book (1785, 1874 and 1963)

“Like most masterpieces, the Prayer Book Communion service has a basic structure that is extremely simple; just three repeats of the sin-grace-faith cycle, like three turns of a screw, each going further than the last in fixing the Gospel in our hearts and drawing out our response to it. The second adds to the first a sharpened application; the third adds to the second a sacramental confirmation. The service is built up thus.

50 years ago, Fundamentalists, some of whom ordained me to the Ministry, often warned that the anchor that holds our Faith secure is a High View of Scripture.  If that anchor is lost they said, the Faith will drift into Error and Heresy.  It was and still is the Formal Principle which forms and determines the Material Principle which is Reformation Theology, including Doctrines about morals and right living.  Today's Evangelicals have long since thrown Fundamentalism into the dust bin of Church History.  Bitter Theological Wars were fought, primarily between the 1920's and the 1950's, between Conservatives and Modernists (Liberals).  Modernists became known as the Neo-Othodox.  Fundamentalists began on the defensive and became cloistered separatists.  They lacked the desire and tools to intellectually engage the Modernists and became increasingly out of touch and irrelevant to the Issues of the day.

Coming from the Fundamentalist camp were young scholars who did want to wage intellectual war on behalf of the Faith and who did want to be socially relevant to the Culture of the times.  At first they were known as "Neo-evangelicals" and then as Evangelicals.  My Fundamentalist collegeages were concerned that these new Evangelicals, though they were orthodox in key Doctrines, would eventually drift into Liberal waters because they were departing from the High View of Scripture (i.e.- it is the the special, inscriptuated Revelation of God, His verbally inspired and inerrant Word.)  That has happened.  Many younger Pastors no longer believe the inerrant verbally inspired Word of God, inscripturated Special Revelation, is the Formal Principle of their Faith.  They are convinced they can do Theology and be true to the Faith relying on a more human Bible, a Narrative, which is not innerrant or infallible, but nevertheless is their main authority for what to believe.  The consequence of this misguided conviction is what has happened in the mainline Denomonations, all of which were at one time very Orthodox. The fears of my early Fundamentalist Mentors have come true. The Evangelicals in those Denominations have been fighting the wrong battle.  They have been trying to stop the trend toward acceptance and approval of Homsexuality and the Ordination of openly Gay Clergy. They have lost that war (and others) because they have fought the wrong Battle and should have been fighting to defend the High View of Scripture.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

This is a Doxology song in many mainline churches by the choir after the Morning Pastoral Prayer or the Responsive Reading.

Another version is spoken several times during an Episcopal Service, usually after Reading of the Psalms  and certain Prayers or Canticles

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

I do not consider these Doxologies [the word means "word of praise"] to be actual praise to God because they do not address Him.  However, an expanded  version of the Doxology, called the "Greater Doxology" or Glória in excélsis or simply The Gloria, is a good example of a true Hymn of Worship. Notice the 2nd Person pronouns.

As often stated by me and many others, Worship is directed toward God.  Worship involves offering to God our praise and thanksgiving.  And asking Him for His forgiveness because we transgress His Law.  We intercede with Him for others and petition Him for ourselves. All this is ostensibly why we assemble in church on Sunday mornings.

So what pronoun do we use?  First person, Second or Third?  i.e.-  I,You, He? and should we use  the plural, We? You? They?  Well, we can eliminate the Plural.  Although God is triune, i.e.- a tri-unity of 3 Persons, they co-exist as one God.  So we do not address The Name in the plural (see Matthew 28:19)  Of course, we always use the singular pronoun.  Makes sense.

And since we are addressing God directly, it also makes sense we would use the Second Person Pronoun. Therefore, when we address God we use "You".  When we talk to other people about God we use "He".
